Tolmie State Park - Washington
Today's Photo Friday is a picture I took last month with my iphone and just dolled up a little using Picnik (a website I LOVE for photo editing). It may not be the best photo, but I think it shows how amazing the simple things can be. We visit this small state park often that is near our home. On this particular day, the bridge we've walked over many times before seemed extraordinary to me and I snapped a quick picture with my iphone since I didn't have my digital with me.

What a VIEW! (Out the window)
Ok, so it is called "Foto FUN Friday" afterall and this photo was just too priceless not to share! My son after a bath making sure to see the sites out our 24th floor suite in Vancouver, B.C. He loved watching the cars and people below and thankfully they couldn't see him above.

Dreaming of a Gondola in Paris - Foto Fun Friday
Ok, so this isn't exactly Paris, but it has me dreaming. One of my favorite quick gettaway cities has these fun boats and even the Eiffle tower. What U.S City is this?

Father and Daughter Kiting at the Ocean - Foto Fun Friday
One of our favorite Washington Beaches isn't for tanning, but always gives us great winds for the kite. Love this shot of my husband and daugther.
Can you name this popular Washington Beach destination?

Alaska Sunsets - Foto Fun Friday
Beautiful sunsets every night along this cruise to Alaska. This pic was my old point and shoot, but the scenery was so amazing you couldn't take a "bad" shot.
Alaska is definitely a cruise I recommend. Not your typical tropical cruise, but still a great time!

Located in the Yucatan Pennisula. The most famous structure of these Mayan Ruins is the Temple Of The Seven Dolls, so named because of seven small effigies found at the site when the temple was discovered under the ruins of a later temple pyramid by archaeologists in the 1950s. On the Spring equinox, the sun rises so that it shines directly through one window of the temple and out the other. This is a similar event to the descending snake of Chichen Itza designed to show the power of the gods. The temple is connected to the rest of the site by a long sacbé. This Capitol dome is plated in 24 karat gold. The gold commemorates this State's Gold Rush days that begun in 1859.
Here is a view from the INSIDE of the dome. Care to take a guess at what State Capitol this is?

Named after Thomas Corwin Mendenhall, this glacier is a site to see! I enjoyed the adventure of landing in a helicopter on it and exploring.
What STATE does this Glacier live in and what's it's name? Hints above!

Glacial ice appears blue because it absorbs all colors of the visible light spectrum except blue, which it transmits. The transmission of this blue wavelength gives glacial ice its blue appearance. Glacier ice may also appear white because some ice is highly fractured with air pockets an indiscriminately scatters the visible light spectrum.

Today's Foto Fun Friday comes at the expense of my lovely daughter. This past weekend we enjoyed our travels near home and went to the Lake Fair that takes place each summer in Downtown Olympia, WA.
I reminded my daughter that she is scared of the big slide (from past attempts), but she insisted she wanted to go. So up she went and
down she came, with a priceless look on her face!

Last week I wrote about my favorite theme park and how my family has gone for generations. Well, here is the fun proof I found in my moms photo albums!
Same fun cowboys, still sitting and waiting for us everytime we visit! There are even some nice looking ladies for the boys to pose with as well

If you've got it, Use it! - Foto Fun Friday - July 9th, 2010
First off, I'd like to give myself a little "Happy Birthday" shout out! Because someone has to do it!
So, use what you've got, whether it's a phone or point and shoot or even your big SLR...but don't miss the memory because your worried about the quality. Some of my favorite pictures are on my iPhone.
Here is one that makes me miss the sunsets in Maui every time I look at my phone screen
Breaking News (for me at least): If you are a iPhone user, I just found out that the newest update includes a ZOOM for the camera! Can't wait to try it out!

I asked a fellow passenger what all the "white stuff" below was. When he told me it was "_____ Lake", I had a brief moment of stupidity and hadn't considered the name of the City I was headed to. Apparently I haven't landed at this airport in the past!
This lake is the largest natural lake west of the Mississippi River and bigger than I had ever imagined at 75 miles long and about 35 miles wide. It's green, white and odd colors almost appeared like a moldy piece of food from high in the sky and it's shoreline shifts in some places as much as 15 miles. A truly amazing site!
What lake is it?

The beautiful colors of the terrain wouldn't make you think "Volcano", but it certainly is! This sleeping mid-pacific volcano harbors many endangered species, some of which exist nowhere else. One being the "Ne-Ne" bird, and the state bird of this Island. Where is this volcano and what it's name?
